ITAMS ranked as the UK’s No.1 specialist SAM Managed Service Provider
London, 28 January 2014
A competitive comparison of specialist SAM providers places ITAMS as one of the world’s top three Specialist SAM Managed Service Providers and No. 1 in the UK.
An independent review of leading worldwide SAM Managed Service Providers published by Martin Thompson of The ITAM Review on 27 January 2014 has ranked ITAMS as the UK’s No.1 specialist SAM Managed Services Provider.
The group test reviewed the capabilities of nine SAM Managed Service providers from the leading UK, Germany and USA markets, although only six allowed their results to be published in the final shortlist. Each service provider was rated based on their expertise, methodology and strength of customer references against independent assessment criteria.
“For ITAMS to be featured in the latest ITAM Review Group Test as one of the world’s top three Specialist SAM Managed Service Providers and the UK’s No.1 specialist is a major achievement in our 12 year history,” comments Managing Partner Paul Sheehan.
“Although the Licence Management Managed Services market overall is very much in its infancy, the future looks bright! We foresee a considerable growth in this market over the next few years and proud to be paving the way towards enhancing and developing best practice.”
ITAMS business is largely UK based but deals with many global organisations now boast a significant number of well-known international enterprise clients. Key differentiators in ITAMS offering in the study includes commercial independence from potential conflicts of interest faced by both software publishers and licence resellers, and a parallel specialist training facility for Licence Management certified by The International Association of IT Asset Managers (IAITAM).
Built up over a number of years in the industry and originating from tool selection and implementation, and development (in line with market maturity to full managed services), a key observation is the emphasis ITAMS places towards building and maintaining strong relationships with their clients and helping them to utilise and optimise their existing capabilities and toolsets.
General market observations during the study included the industry skills shortage, the use of underlying SAM technology, commercial independence and conflicts of interest, the scope of services, the duration of service relationships, key market drivers and using ISO as a reference model.
